About SimPro Conference
Steel research is chiefly driven by the desire to produce steels with tailor made microstructure and properties suited to diverse applications. Significant progress has been made in understanding the influence of alloying elements, hot deformation of austenite and its controlled decomposition during cooling, cold rolling and annealing on microstructures and mechanical properties in hot and cold rolled products. These developments are aimed at meeting ever increasing demands for steel with higher performance and reliability in service. Physical simulation coupled with mathematical modeling and other advanced techniques have proved to be techno-economically attractive in improving metallurgical processes, leading to enhancement in quality of contemporary products and development of new products.
The conference is organized every four years and the first conference SimPro'04
was held in 2004. The 4th Conference (SimPro'16) is a step
forward, which will be organized during February 10 - 12, 2016.
This will focus on various simulation techniques and their applications in steel
research and recent advances in thermo-mechanical processing. It will provide
an opportunity to scientists and technologists from research/ academic institutes,
and manufacturers to share their experience and find new directions in producing
high value products.
The conference will be held at Research & Development Centre for Iron
& Steel (RDCIS), Ranchi, the Corporate R & D Organization of Steel
Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL), which is one of the largest steel producers
All selected papers received as per schedule will be published in the proceedings and made available to all registered delegates at the conference site. Some of the selected papers will also be published in the special issue of a reputed International Journal.
Experts from M/s Dynamic Systems Inc., USA; manufacturer of the Gleeble Thermo-Mechanical Simulation System, will be available for interaction and discussion with the participants. Live demonstration using Gleeble-3500C will also be organized during the conference.
Call for Papers
Technical papers are invited for presentation in the conference as per the
given schedule. Authors are requested to submit the abstract of about 400 words
preferably through e-mail at email@example.com / firstname.lastname@example.org.
Authors of the accepted papers will submit their full paper for publication
in the Conference Proceedings. Key note addresses / invited talks on selected
themes, will be delivered by some of the world’s renowned scientists and technologists.
Guidelines for preparation of full paper will be available in the Conference
