18th International Conference on Environmental Degradation of Materials in Nuclear Power Systems - Water Reactors (8.13-17, 2017, * Portland, Oregon, USA)

Website ¹Ù·Î°¡±â Ŭ¸¯

Environmentally induced materials degradation represents a significant fraction of materials-related problems in today¡¯s nuclear power plant operation. Under extended lifetimes of potentially longer than 60 years, understanding materials degradation will become even more important for both economic and safety reasons. Understanding today¡¯s materials problems is also critical for the future in advanced light water reactors. The purpose of the Environmental Degradation of Materials Conference series is to foster an exchange of ideas about such problems and their remedies in water-cooled nuclear power plants of today and the future. The conferences cover material problems facing nickel-based alloys, stainless steels, pressure vessel and piping steels, zirconium alloys, and other alloys in water environments of relevance. Components covered include pressure boundary components, reactor vessels and internals, steam generators, fuel cladding, irradiated components, fuel storage containers, and balance of plant components and systems.

WHO WILL BENEFIT

This conference series has a strong history of international attendance and participation. Government laboratory facilities in North America, Europe, and Asia; universities with nuclear power research centers; and research and development departments at commercial nuclear power technology facilities will all benefit from sending staff to this conference.

CONFERENCE SPONSORS AND ORGANIZERS

The Environmental Degradation of Materials in Nuclear Power Systems _ Water Reactors conference series is jointly organized by the four sponsoring societies:

The 2017 conference is hosted by TMS, and sponsored by TMS Corrosion & Environmental Effects Committee and Nuclear Materials Committee of the Structural Materials Division. The conference is being organized by the following individuals:

Conference General Chair:
Mike Wright, Canadian Nuclear Laboratories
Technical Program Chair
